Jonathan Lehrer is senior manager, enterprise communications for the College of American Pathologists in Northfield, Illinois. He has been providing PR and marketing to health care groups, small businesses, government agencies, associations and nonprofit organizations since founding Jonathan Lehrer Communications in 1999. He has won awards for website design, publications and strategic communications.
Jonathan Lehrer has been a communications consultant to such clients as the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (Illinois Chapter), American Mediconnect (physician’s telecommunications center), Center for Health Design, Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, Will County Center for Economic Development, Jewish Council on Urban Affairs and the Village of New Lenox.
A graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Communication, Jonathan began his career as a radio journalist, covering local news and politics at several Chicago and suburban radio stations.
He was an executive at the AAA-Chicago Motor Club (insurance, travel) for 18 years. He was the company’s media spokesperson, and, as vice president/public affairs, he managed the club’s government affairs, traffic safety, media relations functions and internal/external publications. While at AAA, Jonathan was a member of the Secretary of State’s Traffic Safety Advisory Council, Governor’s Graduated License Task Force, Downtown Parking Task Force and Partners for Clean Air Steering Committee, among others. He founded and managed Illinois Ice Pack, a coalition of public-private organizations promoting winter driving safety.
